Construction progress on the Suvarnabhumi Airport Link project
Transport Minister Santi Prompat on Thursday (7th March) said he had asked top officials of the State Railway of Thailand about the matter, and they affirmed the project would be completed and in operation by the end of this year.
The name Suvarnabhumi was given by HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej at an auspicious foundation stone laying ceremony on January 19, 2002. Suvarnabhumi means "The Golden Land" which is a traditional name for the Thailand-Cambodia-Laos-Burma region.
